I'm a teacher, author, and editor. I completed a PhD in Musicology at Rutgers University in 2009 and have been working in the Music Production program at Rider University since 2012. In the classroom and in my own writing, I focus on gender, race, and class, especially in the context of popular music. I have published a monograph and several journal articles and essays. I strive to engage difficult material in conversational ways in my writing. My editorial work has included curating collections for an Oxford Handbook, popular music and sound studies websites, and academic journals. As an editor, I'm conversant across the Humanities and love working with authors on projects that involve some aspect of social critique.
